Volunteer Opportunities

 Are you a parent with opinions about how transition can be easier for families? Are you a teenager needing community service hours? Perhaps you have spare time and want a way to stay sharp on your presentation skills. Why not join the Central Indiana First Steps team of volunteers. Regardless of your role, you can take satisfaction in the fact that your time is well spent promoting the growth and development of infants and toddlers in our community. At Central Indiana First Steps, we have a variety of ways that you can contribute your time and efforts as a volunteer. It's just a matter of deciding what you want to do!

Local Planning and Coordinating Council Participation

The First Steps Local Planning and Coordinating Council (LPCC or Council) is a voluntary group composed of parents whose children have special needs and representatives of organizations providing early intervention and transition services in the Central Indiana First Steps Cluster. Please help us make a difference in our community and in the lives of families receiving First Steps services by participating in the planning of such events as provider meetings, training opportunities, family events, and more! Membership is open to everyone your input and assistance is very much needed.

Public Awareness/Community Outreach Events

First Steps maintains a presence in the community by attending numerous health fairs and community events. Help us distribute informational materials and make members of our community aware of this awesome program that changes the lives of families having infants and toddlers with special needs by becoming a public awareness and community outreach volunteer today!

Administrative Support

Periodically, volunteers may be needed to support staff in performing general office functions such as filing, data entry, preparing informational packets, etc.
