How the SPOE and
Providers Work Together
The SPOE acts as the
liaison between First Steps and the Central Reimbursement Office (CRO).
Provider service authorizations are generated in the SPOE database and
sent electronically to the CRO. Once the CRO receives the authorization
it is posted on web interchange, where the provider can view the
authorization and bill for services. The SPOE is committed to resolving
provider authorization issues quickly. If you have a missing
authorization, please
email
the SPOE and we will correct any errors in the
SPOE database within two business days.
The SPOE also provides
Intake and Service Coordination for families. Intake Coordinators work
with families during the initial enrollment process and coordinate
eligibility determination and the initial IFSP. After the initial IFSP
is written, the ongoing Service Coordinator assumes responsibility for
case management until the child either graduates or ages out of First
Steps. The SPOE and providers work closely and cooperatively to ensure
quality services to families and their children. Click here for a brief
outline of provider and Intake/Service Coordinator responsibilities
at various points of service. Also, click here for a complete list of
Intake and Service
Coordinators, including contact information, the areas they
serve and their supervisors. Click here for complete SPOE policies
and procedures.
