Thomas Edison once said, “If I could solve all the problems myself, I would.”  Nothing could be closer to the truth.  Raising a child with developmental concerns can be an overwhelming task, but you don’t have to feel alone.  Use the resources below to get connected to the information and support you need.

Cluster G Resource Directory – A listing of area services and helpful links for families with children who have special needs.

First Steps Resource Library – A listing of books and other resources available for loan from the First Steps Cluster G LPCC Library

Family Handbook – A publication, developed by the First Steps Cluster G LPCC, explaining the First Steps Early Intervention System.  This manual provides basic information concerning eligibility, cost participation, services available, and transition among other things.

Family to Family – An information, resource, and referral source to connect families nurturing children with special needs.

Family Rights – Every family with a child age birth to three years with a disability, a diagnosed developmental delay or who is biologically at risk may be eligible to be served by First Steps.  All families served by First Steps are guaranteed these rights by federal law.  View Family Rights here.

Welcome to Holland - Welcome to Holland is an essay, written in 1987 by Emily Perl Kingsley, about having a child with Down syndrome, though it is applicable to many other birth defects, and is given by many hospitals and child-care professionals to new parents of children with special-needs.
